Hermes Rodrigues da Fonseca was a prominent Brazilian military officer and politician who served as the 8th President of Brazil. His father, Hermes Ernesto da Fonseca, was a general in the Brazilian Army, and his brother, Estácio Coimbra da Fonseca, also had a successful military career.
